The Most Unorthodox Career Change Ever

In what can only be described as the most unorthodox career change ever, Deryck Spooner has left his role as the Nature Conservancy's climate change organizer to join the American Petroleum Institute (API), the oil industry's biggest trade group, as a grassroots director. Spooner will coordinate API's efforts to "develop, mobilize and sustain a political infrastructure of individuals, groups and coalitions to advance priority advocacy issues with elected officials." Naturally, this career change makes environmental groups extremely nervous since Spooner has a deep knowledge of grassroots strategy and "green" credibility. According to a source, Spooner argues that he sees no conflict between his old and new jobs.
