worth writing.

You also talked about the "fiery, difficult, complicated emotions" that drive those songs. You seem very comfortable talking about those emotions at length onstage.

I am getting to a point where the only love worth being in is the love worth singing about. And kind of mad love. I think that for me, when you experience something that's worth writing a song about, chances are it's the same kind of intense feeling that someone else has felt, and it has led them to be sitting on a bedroom floor crying, or walking through a crowded room feeling alone or feeling misunderstood by the person who's supposed to know them better than anybody else. Those are things that make you feel really alone, and if someone's singing a song about that feeling, then you feel bonded to that person, and I guess that's the only way I can find an explanation why 55,000 people would want to come see me sing.

I'll find it in a song.

I recorded the introduction to Hunter Hayes' new song "I'll find it in a song" tonight.

Here's the full song.

My other favorite is "Wanted." Love Hunter's introduction, here:

I previously blogged about "Cry With You" and Hunter's introduction to that song here.

Hunter opened for Taylor Swift last year and will be on the road with Carrie Underwood this year. Or you can show him some love by going to a show on his current headlining tour.

Don't let the moment pass you by.

For the purpose of this post, you can stop the clip at 1:25 minutes. Taylor gave this speech at the June 2010 Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony in NYC.

From her Thanksgiving Day NBC special:

Real life is a funny thing, you know. In real life saying the right thing at the right moment is beyond crucial. So crucial in fact that most of us start to hesitate for fear of saying the wrong thing, at the wrong time. But lately what I've begun to fear more than that, is letting the moment pass without saying anything.

I think you deserve to look back on your life without this chorus of resounding voices saying 'I could've, but it's too late now'. So there's a time for silence and a there's time for waiting your turn. But if you know how you feel and you so clearly know what you need to say, you'll know it. I don't think you should wait. I think you should speak now.

Taylor has confirmed that she wrote "Back to December" for Taylor Lautner.

Yes, I love Taylor Swift. She Votes! :)

Excerpt from this 2008 People Magazine piece:

The 18-year-old country star waited in line in Sumner County, Tenn., for an hour and a half on the last day of the state's early voting period. "I wasn't going to be able to vote on Nov. 4 because I'm going to be in L.A.," she explains. "But there wasn't a chance I was going to let this slip away."

"The line wrapped around the building," she laughs, "but I can honestly tell you that it was worth the wait. I felt like I really accomplished something special. It's like exercising – you think about it and you're like, 'Wow, there's going to be a long line, there's going to be a lot of effort involved,' but afterwards you feel so good."

While she wouldn't tell People who she voted for, I stumbled upon this earlier tonight. Skip to 2:24 minutes.

Best Buy Uses Social Networking, Celebs & Philanthropy to Connect with Teens

photo: Taylor Swift

Best Buy has created the website at15.com for teens ages 13-18, in order to give teens a voice in how the company donates $1 million designated for charities.

And oh wait ... what else? Oh right, because as Best Buy admits "you are obviously key to the success of our stores. How would your parents know what to buy without you?"

From at15.com -

Best Buy's @15 $1 Million Donation: You decide. We donate.

Best Buy is donating $1 million, and you decide where it goes. Not your parents. Not your teachers. Not Best Buy execs. Not some group of government officials. You. And all the other teens like you who are registered on at15.com.
Here's how it works: Collect points. Make change.

You earn points by completing activities right here on at15.com. The more you participate, the more points you earn. Some activities are worth a few points some are worth a lot. Four times a year you give your points away — to the featured charity partners on at15.com you believe in most.

Every three months, we add up all the points, divide up that big stash of cash, and donate it. This is called the @15 Change Exchange. The first Change Exchange begins April 2009.

Every 3 months: New points to earn and give away. We'll have a new set of featured charities every three months, too.

It's simple. Powerful. And you make the decisions. Just think of all the good you can do. Right here on at15.com

Here's one way to earn points - play this game, which reminds me a lot of the card game, Memory, that I played when I was little.

The campaign has received support from celebrities - check out the TSA's. Yes, that's TSA's - Teen Service Announcements.
