Grameen Foundation: Bankers without Borders

Grameen Foundation was created in 1997 to support the kind of work performed by Grameen Bank. Grameen Foundation then created Bankers without Borders to connect the intellectual capital of the private sector with Grameen's work via skills-based volunteer assignments.

These assignments can be on-site or remote, and can last anywhere from 2 weeks to four months, depending on the assignment.



Bankers without Borders is currently recruiting for these assignments.

Microfinance Rap endorsing the Grameen Foundation

Lehigh senior Fred Graves interned at the Grameen Foundation this past summer. Fred created this video soliciting votes for the Grameen Foundation in the American Express Members Project contest.



Grameen won the contest in August - the prize was a $200,000 grant.

It's a Muhammad Yunus Monday in San Francisco!

For the last stop of his US tour, Muhammad Yunus, the founder of Grameen Bank and the author of "Banker to the Poor" will speak at San Francisco's Commonwealth Club. Professor Yunus will discuss his new book, "BUILDING SOCIAL BUSINESS: The New Kind of Capitalism That Serves Humanity's Most Pressing Needs" (PublicAffairs, May 11, 2010), and sign copies. Paid, Overseas Fellowship Positions with Atlas Corps

Atlas Service Corps seeks nonprofit leaders from around the world to apply for their 2010-2011 fellowship positions in Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD and Bogota, Colombia.



Expenses are paid in this prestigious fellowship program, including a living stipend, health insurance, and training. Applicants must have 3 or more years of experience in the nonprofit sector, a college degree, fluency in English (and Spanish if applying to volunteer in Colombia), and a commitment to return to their home country after one year.

Candidates from outside the U.S. are placed at outstanding host organizations in Washington, DC or Baltimore, MD including Ashoka, Asian American LEAD, CentroNía, Grameen Foundation, and Population Action International. Candidates from the U.S. are placed at organizations in Bogota like Global Humanitaria and Oxfam GB.

In addition to volunteering full time at their host organizations, Fellows are enrolled in a management development training program and join a growing network of nonprofit leaders from around the world.
