I got to watch part of Venerable Sangye Khadro's (Kathleen McDonald) online course "Peaceful Living, Peaceful Dying" when it livestreamed from Sravasti Abbey the weekend of April 17-20, 2020. Sravasti Abbey reported that more than sixty people registered for the course and several hundred more watched the livestream.
Sravasti Abbey introduced the April 2020 course, writing, "Venerable Sangye Khadro, one of the most senior Western Buddhist nuns and author of How to Meditate, leads this retreat, offering Buddhist perspectives on dying that help us to live with love, compassion, and forgiveness.
"... Ven. Sangye Khadro will share Buddhist perspectives on dying as well as practices to prepare for our own death and help others who are dying.
"Echoing the Buddha's teachings and her own insights, Ven. Sangye Khadro encourages us to face death as the inevitable companion of life and to see it as an opportunity to truly open our hearts to compassion, forgiveness, and loving-kindness."
Watch the recorded teachings and meditations on the Sravasti Abbey website. The videos are hosted on YouTube, making it really easy to take all or part of the course.
Experience part of the course by watching the Friday, April 17 teaching, filmed on the first night of the course, on the Sravasti Abbey YouTube channel.
