Learn Meditation From Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche During Covid-19

Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche, Pristine Mind Foundation Facebook.

Pristine Mind Foundation, headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, was founded by Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche.

Meditation Instruction

Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche teaches about meditation, a technique he calls "pristine mind meditation," and often gives the instruction to "leave your mind alone." I appreciate his clear explanations. This nine-minute teaching is a nice example of Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche's style.

Dakini Yeshe Tsogyal, Pristine Mind Foundation website.

I am looking forward to the April 25 1:00-2:15 PM PT livestream event "A Poem and Vajra Song of Devotion to Dakini Yeshe Tsogyal." The event description says, "This vajra song by the great 19th century master Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche is perfectly suited to the times we find ourselves in right now. In it, Jamgon Mipham expresses devotion and gratitude to Yeshe Tsogyal during a time when the world is turbulent, people are confused, and there is great uncertainty.

"Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche translated this special devotional vajra song to Dakini Yeshe Tsogyal last year and will explain the meaning of this extraordinary poem. We will read this vajra song and Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche will sing the song and explain the timely message this enlightened poetry has for us right now."

Vajra Armor Mantra

Visit the Pristine Mind Foundation's new webpage for Powerful Healing and Protection Mantras to stop Covid-19. Like Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche advises reciting the Vajra Armor mantra.

The Vajra Armor mantra practice Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche shared says:

OM PEMA SHAWARI P'HET NEN PAR SHIK NAGA NEN TAYATHA SARWA VIRITA HANA HANA BENZIRNA RAKYA RAKYA SOHA

The Vajra Armor mantra Lama Zopa Rinpoche shared is a little different:

HŪṂ VAJRA PHAṬ / OṂ PADMAŚHAVARI PHAṬ / NÄN PAR SHIG / NĀGANAN / TADYATHĀ / SARVAVIRITA / HANA HANA / VAJRENA RAKṢHA RAKṢHA SVĀHĀ

Lama Zopa Rinpoche's advice notes, " ... the additional syllables “HŪṂ VAJRA PHAṬ,” ... was taught by Trulshik Rinpoche. These syllables are recited with each recitation of the mantra. There are other lineages of the mantra that do not contain these syllables."

The Vajra Armor mantra practice Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche shared says, "When any sickness arises and there is a need for it to be healed, or if an epidemic spreads to infect many, this mantra is recommended by three different treasure revealers.

"In the age of decline, many diseases can’t be diagnosed by doctors or cured by medicine. At such times, this mantra is critical. The treasure revealers say this practice does not require additional instruction or meditation. Simply recite the mantra with single focus. If you truly follow Vajrayana with trust and belief in mantra, with fewer strongly held concepts, it is of greater benefit with this practice."
