The monks of Gaden Shartse Thubten Dhargye Ling and Gaden Shartse Cultural Foundation invite everyone around the world to join them as they perform the Medicine Buddha puja and create a Medicine Buddha sand mandala over the next two weeks at Gaden Shartse Thubten Dhargye Ling center in Long Beach, CA.
These activities have been requested by students and friends. The monks recently completed a Green Tara sand mandala which was also streamed live on Facebook.
Watch on Facebook Live
The monks will be on Facebook Live beginning on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 and ending approximately two weeks later (Wednesday, May 6) when they finish the Medicine Buddha sand mandala.
Each daily livestream will start at 10 AM PT and can be expected to end by 12 NOON PT.
Tune into the Gaden Shartse Thubten Dhargye Ling Facebook page to watch the monks perform the puja and create the mandala.
Viewers are welcome to participate in the puja from home. The puja is traditionally done prior to eating any full meals with meat. Therefore Vegetarian-style meals are highly advised prior to partaking in the morning Medicine Buddha pujas with the monks.
Gaden Shartse Thubten Dhargye Ling will be using The Concise Essence Sutra Ritual of Bhagavan Medicine Buddha called The Wish-Fulfilling Jewel, available for free download from FPMT. Gaden Shartse Thubten Dhargye Ling recommends making a donation to FPMT.

"Gaden Shartse Thubten Dhargye Ling, a center for the study of Buddhism and Tibetan culture, was founded in Los Angeles in1978 by the late Venerable Geshe Tsultim Gyeltsen. Since being named “Land of Flourishing Dharma” by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the center’s mission has been to share with the world the precious teachings of the Buddha Dharma, and to extend assistance to exiled Tibetan monastic communities in India.
"Establishing a vibrant urban dharma center requires diligence and patience, and GSTDL was housed in several locations throughout Los Angeles before settling in its current address in the Belmont Heights neighborhood of Long Beach in 1996. Throughout the years, what has been most constant is the clear vision and quiet determination of its humble founder, whose purpose was to share the Dharma as both lived tradition and personal experience."
