The power of Nonprofit Text Messaging

This is a new topic for me, something that I feel compelled to teach myself about ...

I have to check out this woman's work - she sounds awesome:) Just read about her in the M+R Strategic Services March 2010 e-newsletter.

Jessica Bosanko, Senior Consultant at M+R, has designed effective online advocacy, fundraising and recruitment strategies for M+R clients since 2007, after years spent honing her online organizing skills for a variety of environmental nonprofits. Lately, she co-authored the Nonprofit Text Messaging Benchmarks study and has advised clients including the Human Rights Campaign, William J. Clinton Foundation and Wildlife Conservation Society on how to incorporate text messaging into their advocacy and fundraising programs. "This is really in the early stages of becoming a core strategy for organizations," she says. "Groups are using it in a lot of different ways, and there's huge opportunities for innovation and growth." Jessica is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. You can reach Jessica at jbosanko(@)mrss.com.

Check out the results of Jessica's "Nonprofit Text Messaging Benchmarks" study here.
